Pay for lines, not for messages

Every plan includes the full API, the SDK, the CLI, webhooks and delivery evidence. What changes as you move up is how many people your agent can reach, whose number it’s reaching them from, and how quickly we answer when something breaks.

Pricing questions

Do you charge per message?

No. You pay for lines and for how many people your agent talks to. iMessage and RCS don't carry a per-message carrier cost the way SMS does, and we're not going to invent one so the invoice looks familiar. The exception is SMS segments sent as fallback — those cost real money and we pass them through at what they cost us.

What is a line?

A phone number your agent sends and receives on, and the host behind it. On Free and Pro you share a managed line, which is fine for testing and fine for a small number of users. On Business the line is yours: your number, your host, your throughput, nobody else's reputation attached to it.

Can I use my own phone number?

On Enterprise, yes, and you keep it when you leave. On the other plans, no. Porting a number in and getting it registered correctly is a multi-week process with real failure modes, and we'd rather do it properly for people who need it than badly for everyone.

What happens when someone doesn't have iMessage?

The same send goes out over RCS if their handset supports it, or SMS if it doesn't. You don't write a second code path and you don't guess. The response tells you which channel carried the message, so your agent can adjust its formatting.

Can I send marketing blasts?

No. Not on any plan, not at any price. Cold outbound, purchased lists, promotional campaigns and one-way notification blasts are outside what Mapier is for, and we will suspend a line that's doing it. This isn't a policy we'd waive for a big enough contract — it's the thing that keeps every other customer's number working.

What happens if I go over my plan?

We email you and keep sending. We don't hard-stop your agent mid-conversation because you crossed a line in a spreadsheet — that's a terrible experience for a person who is waiting on a reply and didn't sign your contract. If you stay over, we'll ask you to move up a plan.

Can I change plans?

Any time, both directions. Upgrades apply immediately and prorate. Downgrades apply at the end of your billing period so you don't lose capacity you already paid for. No call required in either direction.

Do I have to talk to sales?

Only for Enterprise, and only because those terms genuinely have to be negotiated. Free, Pro and Business are self-serve: card in, key out, first message sent before anyone from Mapier knows you exist. If you'd rather talk to a human anyway, we're here — but you shouldn't have to.
